Matthew 22: 37‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’38 This is the first and greatest commandment.39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
In Proverbs, God tells us, "Where there is no vision, people perish." God, in His great wisdom, often uses circumstances of life to give us new lenses through which to look -- to sharpen or clarify our vision. Impact Outreach Church has functioned for 5 years looking through a particular lens -- the lens of a contemporary church with a building, a worship team, lots of community action, lots of usage of the building, etc. We have used our resources to work hard for the Lord without apology. In recent months, the Lord has used our lack of resources to give us a new lens. Oftentimes, when the Lord wants to shift our focus, He drastically changes our circumstances. Having to give up our building due to lack of financial resources has caused us to take a hard look at everything we were doing, everything we were using, and HOW. . . .The Lord has brought our heart back to basics -- back to simplicity. With this new lens comes lots of changes. We continue to be a church that believes you don't just COME to church, you BECOME the church. That implies journey, and change. So, with a new year just begun and His new mercies everyday, we undertake a NEW journey for 2020. We are moving from a central building to more of a house church. We are shifting our financial resources to loving people, supporting Godly ministries already in existence, coming alongside people with similar hearts for God and for people -- instead of maintaining a building where a few gather. We are moving from a very busy activity schedule to more simplicity -- allowing people to use their time for building and maintaining relationships, discipling, and using their gifts individually and collectively to serve people and His kingdom. We continue to stay true to our name -- impacting the community and reaching out with the love of Jesus. We believe there are many ways to "be church" and while this is the way God is calling us to in the moment, He also calls us to live in unity with one another, so we will continue to work alongside our brothers and sisters who love and trust Jesus, no matter the sign over their door and no matter their particular model of "being church". That is the new lens, and the vision He is calling us to in 2020. If that resonates with you, contact us for more information!

23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
